Alto Saxophonist Brenon Parmar is an upcoming performer in the New York jazz scene. On scholarship, he completed his masters degree in Jazz Performance at the Manhattan School of Music. During his time in New York he has had the opportunity to perform at various jazz clubs in the city, including Smalls Jazz Club, Ornithology jazz club, Midnight Blue, Winnie's Jazz Bar. He previously completed his bachelors degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto where he was awarded the Mary Alive Stuart Jazz Scholarship, Richard Iorweth Thorman Jazz Scholarship. Brenon has had the chance to develop under Jaleel Shaw, Nicole Glover, Buster Williams Kelly Jefferson, Mike Murley. Brenon has received multiple awards including:
  • The Don Strathdee award for Musical Excellence in 2014, 2015, 2017.
  • 2015 Best Soloist Award in the New York Festivals of Music competition
  • The Donald. A. Wilson music award in 2018
  • Berklee Five Week Program Scholarship award in 2018
  • 1st place in TD Niagara Jazz Festival Competition in 2020.
 Aside from saxophone, Brenon has received a stellar musical education by completing Royal Conservatory of Music exams in classical piano up to grade 10.
